In the North West of Sardinia, just 2 kms from the beautiful Catalan city of Alghero, a plot of land of approximately 1 hectare located at the foot of Monte Agnese, one of the hills that dominates the city, inside which stands an ancient residence of olive growers and winemakers (La Maison du Monde by CoralRiviera) and its cottage (La Dolce Vita by CoralRiviera). These bright houses are built between an olive grove and a fenced vineyard which opens onto the countryside and the hill of Monte Agnese. An invitation to relaxation, peace and intimacy just a stone's throw from the city of Alghero and its splendid white sand beaches waiting to be discovered. The entrance is located shortly after the beginning of a dead end on the Consortile Poneddu/Puntet road, where you will find peace and tranquility for your stay. La Maison du Monde is a restored Sardinian farmhouse that retains the history of the original dwelling while offering modern levels of comfort and convenience for up to five guests.
La Maison du Monde inside is comfortable, spacious and equipped with all comforts. It consists of a dining room with fireplace, a large kitchen, two bathrooms with shower and two bedrooms.
Overall Shabby style prevails, thanks to its pastel colors gives a sense of tranquility to all those who live it.

Outside, everything is on hand: a large wooden terrace where you can eat or just relax, a bar-b-que area where you can cook delicious dishes of meat, fish and vegetables of the region, a fresh green grass where you can play or enjoy the generous shadow offered by the olive trees, a finally wonderful emerald green pool in which cooling off in the warm days.
Wake to the birds singing outside, visit the bakery five minutes away for morning brioches & wonder at the stillness evening brings.

La Dolce Vita- cottage -
La Dolce Vita - cottage - seems designed by an artist with a magical brush. It is a perfect rustic for two people nestled between olive trees and fruit trees, very intimate and romantic.
It consists of 2 large windows, Florentine terracotta flooring, a kitchen with Azulejos equipped with all comforts, a double bedroom with built-in wardrobe and finally a delightfully decorated bathroom with precious retro floors and colored and hand-decorated tiles.
Outside: a wonderful hydromassage mini-pool where you can enjoy unforgettable "en plain air" evenings; exclusive wooden patio with sun loungers; outdoor shower in reeds to regenerate after a splendid day of sun and sea; table and chairs for romantic candlelit dinners; "Hand made" BBQ for grilling fresh and local products such as fish or meats and finally a refreshed green lawn in front of the house.

“Paradise”
This was our second visit to Maison du Monde (see previous review for more specific details from 2016) and it was every bit as wonderful as the first.
It is such a lovely house and perfectly equipped for a young family. You couldn't ask for more from a holiday home. Loads of room, plenty to do, wonderful swimming pool, outdoor BBQ, hammock, badminton net...
Sardinia is a fantastic place to visit, especially the area in and around Alghero. Bosa is also a fantastic place to see.
The beaches (La Speranza and Stintino especially) are the best I have ever seen. So clean and unspoilt.

"Just gorgeous"
We were very reluctant to make this review as this is like disclosing of Coca Cola recipe but we have finally decided to do so because Michele and Lucia deserve it. We've been to a dozen or so holiday houses in Mediterian area and La Maison du Monde is definitely number one for us.
The best recommendation is that we have been there already twice and this year we have booked our third stay.
This is not a fancy modern villa with furniture made of glass and up-to-date design which looks more like made for Elle Decoration photo session than spending summer holidays with kids. This is a normal country house in a country area with its history, surrounded by nice green garden with grass, trees and hedges. The house is extremely cozy and comfortable despite being just a normal country house having couple dozen of years. It has everything you might need. Our favorite part is a shaded patio between the house and swimming pool where you may spend your time (dining or just drinking wine) at the same time watching your kids playing in the pool. What we finds extraordinary is that despite the house is in the authenitic rural area (vineyards, olive trees plantations, etc.) it is literally 5 minutes’ drive to the center of Alghero. Therefore it is extremally easy to make any kind of shopping or just to go for a dinner to Alghero.

“Out of the ordinary”
We really enjoyed our stay at La Maison du Monde. This is not your typical summer rental apartment as it is located in an agricultural area. The house is very cosy, and has a "shabby chic" (I think it's called) style. Here you can enjoy your very own garden, with olive trees, lemon trees and other fruit trees.
There is even a hammock, where you can relax with your favorite book under the shadows of an olive tree. Or you can take a swim or just cool down in the private pool. The pool is very suited for children, as it is not very deep (about 1 meter). It is perfect for the little ones learning to swim...there is also an outside stove.
The house is located just a few kilometers outside of Alghero. You need a car, because walking is not an option, especially during the evening/night.
The owners of La Maison du Monde are very friendly! They will help you with any problem you might have and give you tips on where to eat, what to see in the area and so on.
